Big news, big decisions!

In 2009 I graduated with a degree in Psychology.  I chose this career path because I had a huge love for people and a huge heart for helping people.  Originally I wanted to counsel adolescents, but that dream slowly faded because I felt like that was not necessarily my passion anymore.  I still had the foundation of loving people and wanting to help them, but I slowly became lost as to how I wanted to do that.  I started to feel like I would not be good at counseling people with their problems because, I would probably take their problems home with me and stress about it.  I honestly felt so lost as to where my life would go.

Within the last 2 years, I have really had a passion for eating healthy and working out. I started to really care about what I put into my body and how to keep my body in tip top shape. I remember one day I was looking up fitness stuff and then the light bulb went off! I could put my background in psychology and my new passion for health together. I did some research and boom, I found the perfect solution for me. So this July, I will be back in school and studying to get my licence to become a health coach!!! At first I was so scared, especially because I have been out of school for some time now however, I feel right about it and I am definitely excited to see where God is taking me with this!

It's been awhile...

My boyfriend turned the ripe old age of 28 this past weekend.  His birthday wish was to have a big cookie cake so essentially, I made that my mission.  I woke up early and headed out to our local grocery store to get the job done.  I made my way to the bakery with my plan in mind!  A lovely girl greeted me and asked what exactly I was looking for.  I told her that it was my boyfriend's birthday and it was actually going to be his last one before he left to deploy over seas.  She then looked at me with the saddest face and patted me on the shoulder.  The whole conversation, she would talk and then look like she was about to cry and then would say how sorry she was and then would pat me on the back again. Throughout the conversation, she would continually do this.  Finally towards the end of my order she said how sad she was that my boyfriend had to deploy on his birthday!  Bless her, I had to tell her all over again that it was his last one before he left.  My complete order of the cookie cake was round, with NO icing covering the cake, except for a border around it.  Icing balloons on the top with the words,"Happy Birthday" written across it. The colors were suppose to be Carolina Gamecock colors. Then she suggested sprinkles so I went along with it.
My order was suppose to be done by noon and they were to call me when they got finished.  No phone call ever came so I headed back that way a few hours later and picked up the cake that said my name.  This is what I got....
Not what I ordered at all!  I didn't have time to change it so I just had to go with it.  Although the cookie was not what I wanted at all, it still was VERY yummy! Bless my boyfriend, he loved it anyway :)

Happy 2 year anniversary

Today is my 2 year anniversary!  Go me!  I know I am biased but I have the best boyfriend in the world.  These 2 years together with him, he has shown me what unconditional love really is and I love him so much for that.  He loves me for me and that is the most special gift that someone can give you in life.  Most people say that God has special designed your mate for you, and that they are out there just waiting to meet you.  I remember praying for someone like David. However, I thought that I would never find somebody that met those expectations.  God has His own timing for everything and it took 21 years, but He definitely delivered more than I could ever ask for!  Here's to 2 years and a lifetime to go!

Craft it happy Thursdays

I think this is so cool!  I would love to do this one day, but maybe cool swirls instead of letters.  Hmm the possibilities are endless!

This is a neat idea to do for a boring mirror.  Just glue tiles on it and boom and cool new mirror!

I love this!  I think this is a neat alternative to a regular door wreath!

This is such a cute idea!!!!  When my boyfriend and I met, we were from the same town, but I was living in Fl and he was still in South Carolina so this would be a cute little art idea for us!

Good Morning

My bed felt so good this morning.  The house was cold but the warmth of my snuggled blankets were so comforting.  Was 7:15 here already???  One look at the clock and I knew that it was crunch time to get ready for work.  Very seldom do I look at a scale however, I have been sporadically tracking my weight since I have been doing zumba, not eating fried foods, fast food and only eating sweets on the weekends.  As I stepped on the scale, I said a little prayer (always do because it makes me feel better) and then look down.  To my surprise I have lost 5 pounds so far!  This may not seem like a lot but boy does it make me happy!  Go Me!!!!!!!  I can tell that this is going to be a good day :)

Today is going to be a good day!

After the last few gloomy day's we have had thus far, there are finally blue skies out and the sun is sending its warm happiness all around me.  This feels wonderful. My boyfriend, David, has been on drills since Thursday in a town that is an hour away from me.  He is finally coming home tonight!!!  I can't wait to be reunited with my honey!  Its the best feeling in the world being in his arms!

Movie's and meal

The rain has subsided but its gloomy clouds are still hovering.  It has been quiet so far, but I like the peacefulness I feel from it.  I woke up this morning with an agenda in mind.  I took back some items, bought some items and decided that since I did not get a movie night last night, I would make up for it today with a crock pot meal and three movies.  Yes three movie!!!  A bit much you say?  Nah I love it and I will most likely watch all three before a new day rises. Okay maybe not but I will definitely try :)

Think I rented enough movies?

I mentioned earlier that I was also going to cook a crock pot meal.  I tried a new recipe that turned out surprisingly delectable and quite easy to make ( what crock pot recipe isn't though right?).  So with that being said, I am going to share my crock pot chicken and rice recipe!
First, for your ingredients you will need 2-4 boneless chicken breast,  8oz package of cream cheese, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, and last but not least 1 packet of Italian dressing seasoning.

Put the cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and the seasoning in the crock pot and let simmer on low for 30 minutes.  This will give enough time to soften the cream cheese so you can stir these ingredients together.

dice your chicken breast into cubes and then add to your mixture.  After this, stir together until your chicken is fully coated and then put the lid on and turn to high heat and let cook for 2 to 4 hours.

I checked after 2 hours and mine was fully cooked!

Make sure that you cook rice separate and once everything is done, just pour your chicken mixture over the rice and enjoy!

Watching the rain

Why does it have to be such a gloomy day outside?!?  Here in the south, people will always say, "  I hate the rain, but Lord knows we need it".  I will admit that at times it can be cozy.  Days such as this when it is overcast, wet, with the slightest little nip in the air can be perfect weather to wrap up in a warm blanket and absorb yourself into a good book or simply watch a good movie.  Tonight will be the perfect night to wind down after a long day at work and do just that!  My boyfriend David is an "on the go" person so typically taking a chill pill to watch a movie is not really his thing.  However, he will occasionally cuddle up and watch a movie with me just because he knows that its my kind of thing to do.  Such a good boyfriend ;)  Unfortunately he is away this weekend on drills (he is in the Army National Guard) so fortunately for me tonight is comfy cozy movie night!

Sweat is just fat crying

Lets talk sweat!  Every Tuesday and Thursday, I venture out into my small little town in South Carolina and go to my favorite workout class...Zumba!  I originally heard about Zumba through my former college roommate, Shea.  She is a licensed Zumba instructor and ever since she introduced me, I was instantly hooked.  Hey, it gives you an excuse to shake what your momma gave you!  I may not look like a professional dancer by any means, but I feel amazing up there shaking my thing and pushing myself harder and harder in order to get the utmost workout.  I would encourage everyone to try it at least once!

My Zumba instructor lost over 100 pounds just by doing Zumba and I can tell you one thing, that is a determined woman and she is determined to make you work hard!  I love every minute of it!!  The more I workout, the more I sweat, and the more amazing and accomplished I feel!

Craft it happy Thursdays

Who would have thought that something so simple could be so artsy.  All you do is glue letters to a canvas.  Who woulda thunk it!

I have a new obsession for twigs and sticks that are wrapped around random things!!  I love that it gives it an earthy feel.  This is such a simple project and its nearly free to make.

This reminds me of  a sweet summertime in the south.  So simple and charming :)

I want this in my kitchen one day!  So cute :)  Just spray paint old utensils, glue to a frame, and boom you have art!
